About
The CUUS is the official association of Ukrainians, that are doing their studies or research at the University of Cambridge. The Society also brings together all those outside academia who are interested in Ukraine and by the virtue of destiny reside in Cambridgeshire area.
Established in 2001, the Ukrainian Society is open, however, to everyone, who is trying to answer such questions as "Why Ukrainian cuisine is so delicious?", "Who allegedly constructed the first submarine in the 15th century?" "What is Kazantip?" or "Which Ukrainian artist inspired Pablo Picasso?"
Standing with Ukraine
The Society promotes Ukrainian culture and heritage, and provides insight into Ukraine's social, economic, and political affairs. We work to strengthen social networks among our members, and to build professional, academic, and business links with the wider community.
Formal foundations
Our work is guided by the CUUS Constitution, which sets out the Society's founding principles and how it operates. We also take part in wider academic partnerships and events that connect Cambridge with the global Ukrainian studies community.
A community, not just a society
Our aim is to provide a social circle for anyone interested in Ukraine — its people, culture, language, and traditions — while connecting Ukrainian communities in Cambridge and around the world. From lectures and traditional craft workshops to language courses and festive celebrations, there's always something happening. We're open to all ideas — just reach out to us!
